After many months of delay the vinyl of the Beckett & Taylor release World of Me will finally hit the shops next monday, 5th May 2008.

Jesus. Thank god for that. But we can’t really just piss about as we are knees deep with the writing of our debut album. It’s going to be a cracker, we hear the summer of 2008 is ‘all about wonky’.

World of Me

To celebrate the milestone of finally getting HOTP007 out the door we are giving away a free MP3 of Me Too. Me Too is our remix of the title track which you can download by clicking here. Or listen with the widget below.

Nothing needs to rhyme with me, the singer growls, and indeed, it’s hard to see what could. The song’s in its own league.” – Pitchfork Media

“…they make for an odd couple, but then that’s what B&T are all about.”
Spannered

“Superbly brain-wrong bit of human/machine hybrid funk that sits right outside of genres” – Mixmag

Beckett & Taylor have a track featured on a 7″ in the Signal Series, released by the Uncharted Audio label. Click through for an mp3 sample.

This series got some very nice press from magazines such as FACT and Spannered.

In other very welcome news, the HOTP007 vinyl is FINALLY on the way, due in the shops May 12th. This record has been such a saga with distribution problems, pressing and mastering problems.

It’s been a phenomenal amount of work so thank the gods it’s coming out now. The pressing sounds fantastic, thanks to the brinkmanship and mastering wizardry of Cristian Vogel at Station 55 Studio in Barcelona and Rashad at Dubplates & Mastering in Berlin. What a team.

Beckett & Taylor are currently putting the final touches to their next single World of Me.

HOTP007 will be released on 12″ and digital formats in early January 2008. This four track release features two new songs and two remixes from the prolific Cristian Vogel.

Beckett & Taylor, Tuesday

Cristian’s remixes were composed using a prototype version of his bespoke techno tracking system The Never Engine, which is also the title of his jacking new solo album on Tresor Berlin. Also highly recommended is the recent rocking album from Cristian’s band Night of the Brain and a CD of experimental music which Cristian composed in collaboration with the choreographer Gilles Jobin. If only Beckett & Taylor were so industrious…

The other news is that our US fans can now buy Plow music on the new Amazon.com mp3 download service. Amazon is completely DRM free so a much better alternative to iTunes… although frankly we and other small labels see a much better return if you buy MP3′s from Bleep or Boomkat. All the B’s please, all the B’s.
