After what felt like millennia of MySpaz trawling, we happened upon imagineIAM from Lafayette, Louisiana… there was an instant spark, a recognition of someone else who could bend diverse sounds into new shapes by sheer force of will and an entirely singular vision.

imagineIAM is all about the leanest, barest, most stripped-down approach, about taking the simplest components of beat, bass and voice and constructing from them precision-tooled devices for exploring extreme possibilities of the human spirit. Read more…

Laszlo Beckett and Steve Taylor have made rather a good name for themselves in the last few years thanks to several original dancefloor releases notched up on their Hand on the Plow label and also on Matthew Herbert’s Accidental imprint.

After practising in his bedroom for ten years, Laszlo finally emerged to take control of something for a change and formed Hand on the Plow. Laszlo is also quite good at: cooking, swimming, camping, the education systems acronyms and punching holes in his hallways plasterwork. Read more…
